The Philips HeartStart FR3 AED Infant/Child Key automatically converts adult shock energy down to 50 Joules, which is the designated defibrillation level for infants and children weighing less than 55 pounds or 8 years of age. When the Key is inserted into the FR3 AED it begins voice and CPR Coaching geared toward the treatment of infants and children.
The Philips HeartStart FR3 AED Infant/Child Key is inserted into the AED and the AED becomes a Pediatric Defibrillator. It automatically begins defibrillation level therapy for infant/child rescues without having to physically change your adult electrodes to infant/child electrodes during a rescue.
This Pediatric Key is unique to the Philips FRx and FR3 AEDs and is not only simple to use, but cost- efficient and low maintenance as well. The Key does not need to be replaced unless you lose it or want to have a spare key.
