It’s easy to become flustered and anxious without this knowledge, but the best thing you can do now – and throughout this entire process – is remain calm. This may be the single most important yet underrated piece.Assess the situation and quickly look for the following signs:– Is the person unresponsive to your voice and touch?
– Are they breathing?
– Do they have a pulse? This could very well be a cardiac emergency such as sudden cardiac arrest if these signs are not favorable.
- Call for Help
Don’t leave the patient if you can avoid it! Instruct someone nearby to call emergency services and if possible, someone else to retrieve the ZOLL AED Plus fully automatic defibrillator you have on site. When emergency services are on the phone, follow the dispatcher’s instructions.Obviously, knowing where the device is located is critical, so it’s good right now to identify where your ZOLL AED Plus defibrillator is so you wouldn’t waste a minute trying to find out.If you’re not in a place you regularly visit, don’t panic.
