Hurricane Grammy Hits Paris: No Casualties!

Hurricane Grammy spotted a Zoll AED Plus Defibrillator at the Eiffel Tower!

While Hurricane Florence made landfall on the East Coast last weekend, our very own “Hurricane Grammy” took Paris by storm! Paris, France- that is!

As a seasoned veteran of the AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Industry, Grammy is now retired, but she still knows her life-saving devices as well as any Fire, EMS, or Police Officer in the field. She knows the vital importance of having an accessible AED when sudden cardiac arrest strikes.  Many members of her family, and previous “work family”, are still involved at AED.us and all are passionate about the role that AEDs play in saving lives.

While in Paris, she visited museums, cathedrals, cafes, and all the amazing landmarks that Paris has to offer.  As a tourist in a foreign country and culture, she couldn’t speak or read the language.

It was while she was in the Eiffel Tower that she saw the Zoll AED Plus “Defibrillateur” stationed and ready for action, located on the wall by the Tower elevator.  The AED icon is universal and crosses over all languages. The Zoll AED Plus is sold worldwide and delivers its revolutionary Real CPR Help (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) in a variety of languages, including French. Life-sustaining CPR, during the chaos of a sudden cardiac arrest event, along with the defibrillator to shock, is what saves lives.

Statistics bear out the fact that sudden cardiac arrest is now the overwhelming leading cause of death. According to the American Heart Association “there are more than 356,000 out-of-hospital sudden cardiac arrests annually in the U.S”.  Each one of these SCAs represents a life that will either survive the event or will not.  There are only two actions that will save the life of a sudden cardiac arrest victim:  Immediate and correct CPR (Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation) to keep blood circulating to the brain, and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator to deliver a life-saving shock to start the heart beat again.

Zoll Medical Corporation manufactures their AED Plus in Chelmsford, Massachusetts, and is quickly becoming an easily recognizable brand because of their lime green casing, Real-time CPR Coaching Feedback, and their easy to place, one-piece, CPR-D Padz. AED.us has had a long-standing relationship with Zoll and is an approved U.S. Distributor of their products.
