Brayden CPR Manikin with CPR Feedback
TOMMY WILKINS: Hey, my name is Tommy Wilkins. I’m here with my daughter Charlee Rose and our dog Brady and we want to demo this Brayden CPR Manikin. So, Brady is done. These are a new line of manikins that show CPR Feedback, which is going to be important here in the next few coming months where the AHA is making a new mandate, their new guidelines that CPR instructors have to have a manikin or device that shows that CPR Feedback. So, we feel like the Brayden is one of the best solutions – it’s also the choice of the American Red Cross for all their CPR instructors.
What Do You Do If You See Someone on the Ground Unconscious?
TW: We are going to do a little mock save here. We are going to pretend like this is me. So, Charlee Rose, you just walked in and you see dad laying on the ground. What’s the first thing that you are going to do?
CHARLEE ROSE: Call 9-1-1
TW: Ok, you are going to grab my phone out of my pocket. You can get to the emergency screen, call 9-1-1…Hello, 9-1-1 what is your emergency?
CR: My dad is not breathing.
TW: He’s not breathing? Oh no! Do you know how to do CPR?
CR: Yes.
TW: Ok, so go ahead and give him CPR…
[Charlee Rose begins CPR]
TW: So, on these Brayden manikins, I don’t know if you can see it on camera, but as you press the blood flow starts to light up and go through head.
You see that, Charlee? And as you’re doing good compressions it starts showing that blood flowing all the way through the forehead, which is really important to keep that oxygen and blood moving. So, give him two breaths…and back into CPR. You’re going to lock your hands, keep your elbows straight, and push down really hard.
TW: Ok, keep giving him CPR I’ve got the ambulance on the way.
Do You Have an AED nearby?
TW: Do you happen to have an AED in your house?
CR: Yes
TW: Where is it?
CR: It is in my laundry room.
TW: In the laundry room? Alright, go grab the AED.
So, maybe she runs and sends brother to go get the AED, now we’ve got an AED on the scene, we hook it up to ol’ dad, BAM, Dad’s back. Dad’s back in action and he’s at the birthday party next week!
