Donation Winner to Spread Awareness and Teach

If you haven’t heard about our AED Donation Program, you NEED to read this! And if you, someone you know, or a place you frequently visit is in need of an AED, this could be your lucky week!

AED.us kicked off 2018 with a pledge to donate one Automated External Defibrillator each week. All you need to do is visit our Donation page and fill out the form. Winners will be selected randomly, and will be announced every Friday on our FaceBook page, @AEDdotUS.

One of our recent winners was Jacob Fannin of Troy, Alabama. Jacob is now the proud owner of a ZOLL AED Plus! We were excited to find out that Jacob owns Shady Grove Tactical, LLC. They provide American Heart Association, Red Cross, and Safety & Health Institute CPR, AED, First Aid, Basic Life Support, and Blood Borne Pathogens Training. He is a representive for  Alabama as their State Coordinator for the National Stop the Bleed Day, and has been designated by the Committee for Tactical Emergency Care as a “First Care Provider”.

Lucky for us, Jacob has become a major supporter of AED.us, and is a big advocate and spokesman for AEDs and teaching all of his students how to use them. He said, “I use the ZOLL in training to demo the “real thing” the best I can. I do use a trainer unit also, but I try to incorporate the real unit to show how easy it us to use, etc.” He is able to show everyone how the ZOLL coaches users through the steps of CPR, beginning with calling 911, starting chest compressions, analyzing the patient, and delivering the shock. This hands-on experience gives people the knowledge and confidence to help someone that may be suffering from sudden cardiac arrest.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest remains the leading killer in this U.S. It is a life-threatening emergency where someone’s heart will stop unexpectedly, they will lose conciousness, and stop breathing. Bystander CPR and the use of an AED will give people the best and only chance at survival. Our goal is to place as many AEDs in public spaces, and educate as many people about how and when to use a defibrillator. Contact us at 1-800-695-1209 for more information. Visit our CPR Instructor Map to find a local instructor, and make sure to SIGN UP on our Donation page if you know where an AED needs to be placed!
