We started selling AEDs with the Lifepak 100, First Medic 510 and Laerdal 1000 were the latest technology. These devices, while the best at the time, seem incredibly primitive now. They were heavy, feature-poor, and had rechargeable batteries that often were dead when called on in a rescue.
