The Workplace First Aid course provides essential knowledge for addressing medical emergencies, whether they occur in the workplace or at home.
OSHA recommends but does not require, that every workplace include one or more employees trained and certified in first aid, including CPR.
COURSE OVERVIEW
Welcome to AED.US's Workplace First Aid Awareness session, designed to equip you with essential emergency response skills and confidence.
- You're statistically likely to encounter an emergency requiring First Aid, CPR, or AED skills at least once in your life.
- Our program is accessible to all, regardless of your prior experience or abilities, ensuring you can effectively assist until experts arrive.
- By participating, you're joining a growing community dedicated to making the most of critical seconds during emergencies.
- Our course is in line with OSHA and American Heart Association guidelines, although OSHA doesn't mandate First Aid and CPR training for all employees.
- Note: OSHA has not yet issued specific guidelines on the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
COURSE TOPICS
Participants will gain knowledge in the following areas:
- Legalities
- Disease management and biohazards
- The Emergency Medical Services System
- Scene Management
- Head, spine, and pelvic injuries
- Bleeding management and shock
- Cardiovascular emergencies
- Sudden medical conditions
- Airway and breathing emergencies
- CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
- AED training
- Secondary survey
- Musculoskeletal injuries
- Burns
- Poisons, substance abuse, and misuse
- Environmental injuries and illnesses
PASS MARK
- The Workplace First Aid Awareness training program consists of 24 learning modules and a final test.
- To pass the course, a minimum score of 80% is required on the concluding assessment.
- Upon completion of the online portion, an 'Online Theory Based' certificate will be granted.
- The course features required tasks that must be finished before receiving the Certificate of Completion.
- Logging off will not lose your progress; completed exercises are saved automatically.
- A 60-day timeframe is available for course completion.
CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION
After successfully finishing the Workplace First Aid Awareness training, participants can download and print their Certificate of Completion. This certification remains valid for a period of three years.
